  1. REDIRECT Template:AlbumSingleSanctuary is a song written by Allie X, Brett McLaughlin, and Jonas Jeberg in 2013 for her debut EP, CollXtion I. The song is the last track on the standard version of CollXtion I, but is followed by Never Enough on the deluxe edition.

Background[]

Sanctuary was inspired by 'true love', as stated in a tweet later deleted by Allie. The song describes a lover being one's 'sanctuary', a release for when the world turns chaotic and brutal.

Composition[]

Sanctuary, like the rest of CollXtion I, is drowned in 80's synth-pop elements. Unlike the previous three tracks before it, Sanctuary is quite upbeat, with a pounding duplet drum rhythm and shimmering synthesizers behind Allie's crooning vocals.
